0.8 kg or 2 pounds of skinless, boneless chicken breast. I used the prime chicken strips that come cut up already so it saves me a bit of time.
1 cup of yogurt ( i use a no fat, organic, balkan/greek style)
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
7 to 8 sprigs of cilantro
1/2 tsp of tumeric
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ground ginger or freshly grated ginger
2 tsp of garlic
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp of paprika
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of corriander powder
1/2 tsp of cumin powder
1/2 tsp of red chilli powder if you want to make it spicy (OPTIONAL)
2) Add cilantro and oil in chopper/blender and blend into a fine paste.
6) Refrigerate for at least an hour. Overnight is ideal.
9) Skewer chicken.
TIP: If you have left over marinate then you can cook it as extra sauce.
1) Add 1 tsp of extra virgin olive oil in a saucepan on low heat.
2) Add marinate and cook/simmer for about 10 mins.
